Ferry Winch Drive Upgrade

MWD were commissioned to investigate the possibility of upgrading 4 x electric dc winch drives. Problems had occurred with the original control system and the drives were intermittently tripping out, and this was causing the mooring up of the ship to be difficult especially in rough weather.

RAS Rig Upgrade

The scope of the project was to safely remove 4 x existing winch units and replace them with 3 new units as well as upgrading the full control system to incorporate variable speed drives.

Davit Decommission and Re-Install

The scope of the project was to remove a davit from a ship being decommissioned and upgrade and re-install on another vessel. MWD was tasked with the removal and upgrade of the electrical control system including the supply of a new remote control operating system to replace the existing deck mounted units.
